Here is an example of what you can expect.  Wherever possible, we try to use local suppliers for the produce used in each recipe.  Of course, when it comes to seafood, this is easy!  The scallops and the lobster featured in this example menu come from the waters you can see from the hotel restaurant.

If you have dined with us before you’ll notice a change in the menu structure, offering more choice when you dine with us this year.  Of course, we will still be offering the cheese trolley!  Which we maintain with pride as a celebration of the cheesemakers art.  You’ll find some lovely wines to accompany your choice.



Sample Dinner Menu

Amuse Bouche


Seared local scallops, honey glazed pork cheeks and vanilla parsnip puree

Fois gras and ham shank pressing served with baby fig chutney and pickled vegetables

Wild Scottish mushroom ravioli, buttered baby spinach and spiced butternut squash

Salt and pepper squid with sweet chilli sauce and Asian style salad


Pan fried cod, saffron potatoes, smoked pancetta and baby leek ragout
finished with a Chablis and chive cream

Roast rump and braised feather blade of Scottish beef
served with sweet potato fondant, wild cepe and Madeira jus

Whole lobster Thermidor, minted potatoes, tender stem broccoli and honey glazed carrots

Pan fried onion squash gnocchi, sun dried tomatoes, sugar snaps with olives and aged parmesan


Dark chocolate Bavarois, white chocolate crumb and basil sorbet

Tart Tatin with vanilla ice cream

Strawberry soufflé with berry salad and clotted cream sorbet

Lemon custard torte, candied lemon ice cream and honey tuile
