Christopher Prow (The Head Chef)
The hotel has a proud heritage of been a place to enjoy the finest cuisine that the highlands has to offer, over the years there have been many great Chefs holding the mantle at the Hotel. Our current Chef is certainly worthy of the hallowed position and boy can he cook ! We are constantly reminded of our competition and always work that little bit harder to stay true to our promise of sourcing only the finest of local produce. We are passionate in our desire to ensure we showcase what our region produces without compromising on the quality. Christopher Prow (The Chef) has held positions at a number of fine restaurants in the South of England, including The Swan at Streatley, Forbury’s Restaurant in Reading, The Pot Kiln in Berkshire and Le Petit Square in Newbury. While in South Africa as a young chef on a Game Reserve, he cooked for Margaret and Dennis Thatcher. More recently he cooked for William and Kate, and trained Pippa Middleton in the culinary arts! As mentioned his approach to creating menus is to use local produce whenever he can; he has already struck up a great working relationship with the Achiltibuie Gardens – successor to the old Hydroponicum – and with the local fishermen who supply us with scallops, langoustines, lobster and crab from the waters in front of the hotel. His style is unique without being fussy, clear flavours with articulate presentation.
